About

Rhee Gold

Teacher, author, mentor, and lifelong advocate for dance educators and studio owners.

Dance education has been part of my life from the beginning.

My dad was a dancer, comic, MC and traveling vaudevillian. My mom was a professional dancer who opened her school in 1964. Our studio was in the basement of our home, so I grew up surrounded by dance, teachers, students and families.

I started teaching and running a dance school as a teenager, and over the decades my career has taken me from studio ownership to producing competitions, publishing, writing, speaking, mentoring and creating educational programs for dance teachers and studio owners.

I founded American Dance Awards, published Dance Studio Life magazine, created the DanceLife Teacher Conference and DanceLife Retreat Center, and developed education and mentorship programs including the Dance Teacher Alliance, Studio Owner Alliance and Gold Alliance. I have taught and spoken throughout the United States and internationally and have been honored with multiple Lifetime Achievement Awards for my work in dance education.

Rhee Gold emblemCore Belief
"After decades in this field, one belief has only grown stronger: a great dance studio is not built around only the most talented child. It is built around every child."

After many years building and leading dance education businesses, I am about to begin a new chapter and focus my work more closely on what I love most: teaching, mentoring and helping dance educators grow. That led to the creation of RHEEFINED Brands and Rhee Gold Inspires.

Today, my work is centered on supporting dance teachers and studio owners through education, mentoring, resources and community.

I believe our greatest responsibility as dance educators is to teach well, build confidence, create a sense of belonging and give young people an experience they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.

That is the work I still love doing.
